I'm working pretty much full time so doing plenty besides the cricket.

I made a technical change to work on the extra bounce, so I'm meeting the ball much further down the track and it's working but I'm getting no value for the shots I'm playing. Because we've scored so few runs I'm having to go and defend and try to bat time just to scrape us to a semi competitive total, which is something I've never been good at but am working on in the middle at the moment!

I had it run in at b3 and whilst working on my ace bats I did some more work on it to make sure.

Aside from work - go and see some of the country!

Sounds complicated. Does meeting the ball further down the track help on bouncy wickets? I'm not so sure.

If it's full - drive. If it's short - cut. If it's in between leave or defend. Maybe sounds simple but seems to work for me.

Unless you've got a coach or experienced player working with you it might prove difficult to make technical adjustments mid season.

I find it's helping me get over the bounce and getting my front foot into better positions. I spoke with the best bat at the club, who's the best player there, about what I was trying, as well as discussing it with the Ansty overseas end of last season.

Been put learning to fish, plenty of bbqs and also a healthy dose of sun burn on my back...

Going through a massive heat wave in central Queensland so had to play in 40+ degree heat today.

Managed to bowl the team out for 86 and we chased it down in 15 overs. Got figures of 5-10 off 8 overs so had a good day in the office.

Going into Xmas we have now had nine rounds. Won the first two, and apart from a wash out in round seven have lost the rest. Yesterday oppo for 244/9, bowled us out for 140. I got 4/50 with three catches dropped, then bowled by a big in swinger after being told the bowler was straight up and down.

In total I've got 12 wickets at about 20, but haven't bowled well. My batting is really frustrating me as I'm hitting well in training, then in games when I keep finding new ways to get out. I shouldn't be averaging single figures but that's the situation I've found myself in.

T20 rounds today. First game won by 1 run, I contributed 1 run, a wicket, a catch, a run out and a no ball for kicking the stumps over.
Second game we got flayed around the park to concede 187. Personally 0/33 from 3, bowled awfully tbh. Batted 3, promoted from 7 first game, got 61 from 39 as we chased it down with an over to spare. Put on 103 with the other overseas, was run out by inches in the 13th, before our number 5 launched 3 sixes in an over when we needed 48 from 5.

Last game, batted 3 and got 12, set the other undefeated team 162 to win. Got two wickets in 3 overs as we won by 6 runs.

After a shocking run in the league, going into t20 finals undefeated is a big surprise!

Plumbed a new career low today in the league... Oppo batted and got 309/6 from 50. 0/38 from 7 for me, dropped catch behind and a sitter that mid off just didn't take one step backwards to catch. Took two catches at point which was a positive. We were rolled for 73. We lost by 236. I've lost by 200 before, but that time I top scored. This time I nicked behind for a 4 ball duck driving a wide half volley from a guy who would make Ansty 3 at best. Even as I swung the bat I was calling myself all sorts of names. We have accepted that we won't make finals, pity this result is the day before t20 finals!

Season ended for us Saturday with another loss. We finished bottom with 25 points from 15 games. Two wins in the first two weeks, one rained off and twelve defeats. Only positive in the club season was making t20 semi finals, even if we got absolutely spanked in that.

Personally I am disappointed with my batting performances, only scoring 95 runs in the league and a high score of 19. In t20s I scored 82 runs at 20.5 from 4 games, so I know I could/should have done better with the bat.

Bowling wise I feel I've bowled OK but not my best. I've had spells where I've felt I've bowled well without reward, others where teams are going hard against everyone and the lack of athleticism has caused me to concede a lot of runs and miss out on wickets. I tied with the other pom with 13 wickets, only behind the captain on 18, but if Dan could catch I'd have been rivalling the skipper as he shelled 4 easy ones off me over the season, and plenty more besides.

Fielding I didn't drop any catches but only took 4, got a run out as well. Occasionally I misfielded with balls not getting to me as quick as I expected thanks to the slower outfields.

Highlights for me, 61 from 39 in a t20 chasing 190 with an over to spare and 8/3/12/5 for Port Lincoln in the Henderson Shield B Grade final which got me player of the week from the local paper.

Got another month here, going to see the national t20 finals in adelaide tomorrow until Friday, then home at the start of April and into pre season with Ansty.

Played Semi finals Yesterday Against the team that beat us in the grand final last season. I Bowled really well with 1 for 10 off 8 overs. They still managed to Get 220 in the 40 overs tho. We chased it down with 6 overs left. I contributed with a sneaky 25 in 3 overs. Sadly i won't be able to play the grand final next week as i am flying out to New York for holidays.
