Old style oval handles
« on: April 15, 2019, 04:39:52 PM »

Hi does anyone know of any ‘off the shelf’ companies who make bats with very oval handles - along the lines of what newbery used to make , maybe Millichamp and hall back in the day , also chase a few years ago and screaming cat . Laver and wood seem to but not keen on ordering from the other side of the world ! By very oval I mean narrow side to side but larger front to back Been down the custom made route but with little success and no option to send back ! Would appreciate any thoughts 👍

All my handles are custom turned to my specs so I can produce pretty much any shape I want from it. A large oval handle should be fine from them. Drop me a message if you want to discuss further

Just noticed Aldred offers an ‘ extra oval’ option - has anyone on here bought a bat from him with this feature ?

Where are you based @jgr ? It maybe worth finding out who your nearest bat maker is. That way you could visit and get it made.

@jgr yep i have 2 extra oval handle bats from him meant to be copies of each other. Only one came in with an extra oval handle but it really is that shape. The other came in just bigger than a harrow with a normal oval handle which was a good amount thinner, won't moan thats now my match bat and has been ever since I got it. I remember getting it refurbed and @Ayrtek Cricket sent it back with a SSH sticker on the top haha

I know a place in pakistan who do cheap customised bats. I got one with a nice oval handle. Name engraved too. Had to pay through western union. Decent bat though.
