Morning all,
After a little bit of advice. I had the issue last season and seems its come around to this season as well. I'm getting caught out by deliveries coming back into me off the seam as a RH bat from RH bowlers. I open the batting so its pretty usual for bowlers to do it. Only the very worst teams 2nd change bowlers we play cant do it and they seem to have gossiped as now 90% of bowlers bowl that ball to me in my first over at least twice. It almost always cuts me inhalf bowling me but if its a bit fuller does get me LBW. I think its because my head and feet just havent got going that early in my innings as if it hasnt happened in 5 overs i dont even notice those deliveries cutting back into me.
One other thing i did to try and negate this is batting about 1 and a half foot outside of my crease to any bowler that the keeper stands back for, thats for a few reasons. 1, hopefully gives a lot more doubt with LBWs, 2 helps mess with a bowlers length either to my benefit or the other batsmans it depends on the day but one of us will get a selection of short stuff and one will get the half volleys but never a mix, 3 i do love watching a legside wide go for 5 wides as the keeper comes to stand up after the first couple of boundaries.
Any advice would be appreciated as forum advice > spending £40 an hour for someone to tell me something blatantly obvious that ive missed.
