The ECB rep will do whatever it takes to make you sign up, and then immediately pretend you don't exist as soon as he's hit his target for new clubs signed up.
They'll promise you coaching assistance, it won't materialise. They will promise you marketing and promotion assistance, it won't materialise. You've have to do everything yourself. Its a significant undertaking that takes a lot of volunteers away from other activities.
We had numerous problems with the website, which is useless, they sent the kit to the wrong address, most of the clothes were the wrong size, and a lot of the kids didn't receive their kit at all.
The suggested drills are crap, you're better off making up your own.
Its a huge amount of extra work, which is fine if you have the volunteers, but it doesn't solve the number 1 problem of teenage dropout. Having 50 6 year olds running around doesn't really benefit anyone if they all reach 13 and then give up to play fortnite.
You might consider asking what is the opportunity cost of all those manhours spent running and organising the thing.
