Bat making and branding

Good afternoon been following the forum for awhile looking at starting to try making my own bats and branding any advice on this would be perfect.
Tools needed ?
Where to buy clefts?
Branding of softs ?
Stickers  ?
Buying in ready made bats and branding yourself

Yes know a list of tools just a after what you need as a starter and with some of my other questions looking through other posts it's sometimes unclear of best option

As others have said, there’s loads of information across the forum that should be checked out, as well as lots on YouTube (Fantail, B3, Aldred, Kippax all have good videos out there).

I’ve got a drawknife, spokeshave and plane, could do with a travisher but they are expensive. Also invest in good sanders.
Don’t think about softs unless you are going all-in with a large amount of capital.
There are loads of places that do stickers, UK and India, but most of the companies that offer specific cricket bat stickers will have a minimum order quantity of 100+ so you may want to source from somewhere that offers smaller runs to begin with.
H4L offer part-made clefts but @Red Ink Cricket is a brilliant place to start.
Not sure that I have the highest opinion of brands that buy in ready-mades and then sticker them up, but that’s your call to make.

Good luck with the batmaking! Do have a go at making your own rather than just stickering up. It's a lot of fun, easy to learn and very satisfying when you use your own bat, or sell it.

Yeah, you'll need a couple of planes - one flat bottom and one rounded. At least one drawknife, a rasp can be useful and loads of sandpaper from 40 grit up to maybe 320 or so. Most tools are available on ebay or from B&Q, more expensive ones also available of course. You will also need a solid work bench with a good vice. If you really want to do the whole process you'll need a press, but this is a big investment of course.

I'd recommend you start by buying a couple of partmades from your local batmaker. It gives you a chance to get to know them and they'll give you lots of advice. You won't want to buy clefts right now as then you'll need a press, and anyway cleft suppliers who will actually sell to you are few and far between.

Stickers are available from various places. I go to Adcal, who will sell you small quantities, but they are quite expensive. Try to do the design yourself, the guys at Adcal will help you to tidy your idea up before printing. I think there are various threads about stickers in the Batmaking section.

Post up your batmaking photos in here. In my experience most people will give very constructive criticism.  :)

I would suggest looking at basic tools to begin with, drawknife, spoke shave, round and flat bottom plane, decent moveable vice, solid bench. However it's each to their own. I picked up a really small cheap plane on Ebay, but find it great to handle the more delicate edges and toe areas, so it's about finding out what works for you. You can also make a basic set up for binding the handle using a drill and some wood.

Stickers can be expensive, so worth thinking about your design and how you many you're looking for originally. I got put onto someone in India and although greater MOQs, the cost per set was much cheaper than Adcal.

If you're talking clefts then you'll need saws, jigs for splices/handles, a bat press etc. All of which require greater knowledge/skill/experionce and money. If you're looking for part mades, there's a few places you can source these.

I would suggest you go to visit whichever pro batmaker is closest to you. For sure they'll sell you a couple of partmades to practice on. Being closer will help, as you may be able to call round when you have particular questions, or things you need some help with. Where are you located @Black Eagle Cricket ?
