What is the worst condition bit of kit you own and use?
« on: September 29, 2019, 08:19:00 AM »

We all love buying new kit, we can’t help it...! But I was wondering what is the worst condition bit of kit you own and use?

Those comfortable pads which look a state but are like slippers?

The bat held together by lots of tape?

Interesting to see what everybody’s is...

Mine was my spikes, had some trainers spiked four seasons ago, they were very very comfortable but alas the sole has now split straight across, so in the bin they go.

Spikes and training shoes smell so bad they are not allowed in the house.

Thigh pad is definitely on its way out - soon to be replaced by @StrettonFox Sports new number!

My spikes finally got retired with 4 games of this season left as even after washing twice they still stunk to much, my thigh guards, lid and box or all approx 8-10 seasons old now but won’t be replaced, wife even stitched my thigh guards last week again so I get another few seasons out of them.
Lid will be replaced this season but trusty box will remain until I retire or it does a Joe Root on me

My jockstrap, it has been sewed few times. Then it is my thigh pads. Then my gloves. Then my bat. Then my pads.

Sadly, my pads are newest. Lol.

My keeping inners! They are falling apart, and they stink, but I am to superstitious to wash them or buy new!

My completely worn out batting gloves, they are my pride as I hit my first and only hundred. I don't think another century will happen in this lifetime but am not going to trash away those lucky gloves.....

Gray Nicolls test bag has ripped linings inside after two seasons. Asics 200 shoes have sole coming apart from the upper after four seasons. B3 bat needs some tlc after four seasons.

Softs I change about three times a year so no danger of those ever wearing out!!

Winter in the market for a wheelie duffle, bat refurb, a cheap net/wet weather bat and the obligatory softs

My Payntr X mk3 pimple shoes. They’re super comfy, and probably the best cricket shoes I have ever worn, but the squishy bit between the upper and the sole really doesn’t like toe drag at all. I’ve only worn them 4-5 times, but I think I’ll be looking for an alternative for next season.
