B3 Finch Twins
« on: November 27, 2019, 09:05:51 AM »

Hi All,

Just wanted to share my positive experience in purchasing a brand new B3 bat. This is my first B3 purchase and I wish to thank Rich and Tom for their patience in the whole process. I was a little indecisive in whether to go ahead with my purchases as well as some personal circumstances getting in the way but they were excellent throughout - so thank you.

Now on to the bat(s) and the story behind them

My desire to purchase a B3 started when our very own @DorsetDan showed me his oversized Finch profile he had made. It was a lovely bat - Dan even went to the trouble of measuring a handle shape he was fond of to have B3 replicate. I really liked the handle shape as well as the bats pressing. I knocked the bat in for Dan and got to know it abit better - so made the decision to purchase on myself. So made contact with B3. I wanted the same bat - same spec etc. Tom came back to me with a cleft with the density required to make the oversized Finch. I was very close to pulling the trigger when my son become ill. So life took over and asked for some time - which B3 were very good at giving me.

A few weeks on and Dan received his bat back from me all ready and knocked in. However felt the bat was a bit heavy after a break away from it so sent it off for a weight reduction. Upon getting the bat back again wasnt happy. Knowing that I liked the bat Dan Offered it to me which I took him up on. A few nice 2 Stripe now at the regular Finch shape and dimensions and weighing 2lb.10.5oz. It felt brilliant in the hands and knowing what the middle was like I was very happy. However - my itch for a new B3 was not scratched So I contacted B3 again - this time after the same weight, Handle and dimensions of Dans bat as it left the factory the second time. This is just showing what B3 can do!

So Tom this time took charge of my order and sent me photos of the clefts suitable for this - here they are...

All 3 very nice however there was only ever going to be on winner - the one on the right. To me it is perfect.

So I asked B3 for them to go a head and paid for the bat - I also added a softs bundle and a set of stickers for the other Bat too in the order.

What I received is nothing short of breathtaking - brilliant pickup and feel and pings excellently.

I am now a B3 Convert and Hope to add to my collection soon.

They do say timing is everything and seem to have timed things well here with this bat as I have purchased it just before B3 have upped their prices for 2020....

So once again thank you to @Butterfingerz, Tom and @DorsetDan for all their help and support throughout the purchase(s)

Very impressive set of sticks and wow if thats the normal size Finch then an oversized one must be enormous. Always find B3 can produce an awesome bat.

Enjoy and happy run scoring!

@SouthpawMark The Finch is a bit like the GM PE shape (Stokes/ Vince, etc) but much more betterer :D Thicker toe, more meat up in to the handle, better balanced.

What was the weight of them 2?

41mm edge
13mm shoulder
27mm toe
Spine not even close to fitting through and stuck miles away from the middle

Monster as expected. Seems that even with it being reduced it still makes a massive bat.
