Hello all. I'm after some new pads after a couple of years off. I was going to wait until we drove by Hunts County but it would seem that the allure of buying new kit is too much for me to handle.

I caved during Black Friday and ordered some Salix Arma youth pads. Unfortunately, I find they're not wrapping around my leg much as my legs have a normal girth

Any other hobbits with short, yet normal girth legs got any recommendations?

Same issue being 5�7 I have used GM pads the last few seasons in the main and they are perfect for me.

I do have 2 pairs of small men�s pads in my sale thread if you want to check them out and I had no problems with either wrapping around my legs and my calf�s are fairly large but both have decent length straps

I'm the same height but think I'm taller in the torso rather than the leg. I've currently got gm 909 in the women's size and they are spot on. Good protection for my level and comfortable. Think they only do the 606 SIREN in xs.

Which size do you use? I am similar height and had a pair of small mens OLEs but found the knee cup too high for me.

Currently using small adult GN legends which are ideal apart from the strap length. I'm not sure what shape of human being is 5 7/5 8 but has calves that big!

Generally kook pads have long straps. Might be worth taking a look at their small adult/youth sizes.

I use small men�s in GM and normal medium in GN pads and both are perfect for me

Am 5ft 8 and have used Youths pads in Salix and M&H but these are not substantial enough in terms of the wrap around coverage.

Same as @SOULMAN1012 coincidentally have used GM Small Men�s in recent years and standard G-N adults fit well.
I also find G-N softs to be a better fit than other major brands in their standard sizes. Just that bit smaller.

Kookaburra offer a range of Small Men�s sizes and some years ago now they served me well, too.

On a side note isn't it crazy that there isn't a standard sizing for pads? I find myself constantly emailing companies/retailers what the length of a particular pad is because it can vary from the different brands.

I am 5'6'' and I love my Aero P1 leg guards in size Small. They are the lightest pads in the market for that size. They are dirt cheap these days. I bought my second pair after using my first pair for more than 7 seasons.

I�ve got stock of my Small Men�s/Youth model, they have quite a compact top hat to them and typically measure 39cm from instep to the centre of the knee roll of that helps. 👍

Never had any issue with strap length or then not wrapping around a leg before either.

I ordered a pair or these, as well as the gloves because, why not?! Arrived today. They are amazing. Light, comfortable and look amazing. So glad I went for them. I always go somewhere to try pads on as I'm particular about what I'm looking for but Barrington closed and have nowhere within a reasonable journey time.

I shall be back for more!

I'm a south manchester resident/former barringtons customer myself - have heard on the grapevine that a new shop is opening near their old place soon. Might have to pay a visit pre season!
