tried various weights and still unsure what my preferred is. 
'Normally use 2lb10 (SH) but currently experimenting with 2lb7 (in SSH).
I definitely think that I get less value from untimed shots but the rope can still be cleared when out of the middle so Im happy with that.  The big improvement for me with the lighter bat is the faster hand speed which is very noticeable and gives confidence on cut and pull shots.  The rest I think is in my mind more than anything else.

I went from 2.8 to 2.13 for a season and ended up hurting my elbow. So now going down to 2.11-2.12.

I agree that the bat needs to be balanced. I absolutely love my 3lb Giant. It has a lot of wood in the shoulders and back and picks up well. I also prefer holding the bat low on the handle. I use 3 grips.
