That Siren is a steal. More grains than some ( so called) higher grades.

Here are some pics. As you can see there are 5/6 grains but faded.
It is small size basically Harrow but big edges and full width. I prefer light bats but is not possible to get in this weight in SH unless you spend top dollar that I won't.
Weight is 2:7.5 with 2 grips. Me being 5'8" I am comfortable using Harrow and SH as long as it feels light in hands.

Looks nice!  I'm sure a few coats of oil on the face would bring some grains out, but it may also darken a few of those other imperfections.
If you have to wreck the stickers to get the face sheet off, you might lose more than you gain looks wise.

How possible is it to use a craft knife to cut the anti-scuff around the stickers and then remove the anti-scuff while keeping the stickers?
I would have thought that was fairly simple?

I will keep scuff on. Oiled back of it last night now knocking it in. Bat feels good in hands that's it not bother about looks in this particular one.

It's easy to take scuff off without ruining stickers by cutting just below as you said  then again apply new scuff after oil.

It’s even easier just to heat and carefully peel back the sticker that’s over the scuff, it’s only 5cm x6cm or so and sticks back down fine if you do it right away.

Just in case anyone wanted to know, this pings as well as anything I've had. Better than my Aldred which was supposed to be my number 1 and as good as my old Aussie GN I would say, absolute bargain!

Just opening up an old thread to see how these bats performed?

Interested to know if anyone has a GM 404 bat and how long they took to open up. Currently have a Noir 404 that im netting with indoors which seems harder pressed.

Attached is a Kaha 404 that i purchased from a local store few months ago. unbleached, 9 nice grains, few blemishes and a butterfly stain. weighs 2lb10oz, it is one of my match bats and is as good if not better than any other grade GM i have used before. and i have used 606, signature, 707, 808 and Original grades in the past. in fact this required the least playing in among all the GMs i have ever used and is an absolute belter.

Stunning looks. Did these bats take a while to open up?

Willow is a natural product - some will perform better than others, etc etc. Most of the time, if you stick with a bat that has been manufactured well and with good materials, you'll end up with a bat that performs well. Sometimes the handles just need to end up breaking in, and the bat will feel better.

Not bad for 90 quid. 404 and 606 (and more recently the Signature model) represent great value in my opinion.
