2022 Kit Mega-Thread
« on: October 02, 2021, 12:02:37 AM »

By now, I imagine we've all started to see some new gear filter through! We've seen the new Gray Nics range in this thread here: http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=49365.msg786670#new, including the return of the Predator and the (real) Powerbow. Gunn and Moore will be announced later this year.

For my part, I spotted a new Hunts County bat on the Cook and Matthews Sport Insta page: https://www.instagram.com/cookandmatthewssport/?hl=en. Looks to be called the Callidus. Is that another model from days gone by?

I'm hoping to see better from Newbery and Kookaburra this year, though I'm really liking how the Rob Pack stickers are looking at the moment. I feel like the market could do with some exciting new blood this year... I wonder what we will see! No pressure, @Neon Cricket !

It's looking like a great year for kit. After a few disrupted years, hoping to get back next year and the  Predator could be the one. Just got some mrf kholi style pads.

Happy to see Paul (of IJC) is back reviewing products on his own channel. I always enjoyed his reviews.

I doubt all the companies he left owing money to would agree 😂

Someone else had bought IJC from him, no?

Someone else invested in IJC and they were left with an £85k debt when it went bust. But Paul was still a director and significant shareholder.

Wasn't just cricket companies who were owed money too (GM were owed the most at about £8k). £46k of taxpayers money also went unpaid in the form of bounce-back loans

More importantly I am owed an ayrtek arm band by ijc...which they claimed they had posted... but I think it was a fib as soon after they folded.   :o

Not having the best time with retailers... im also owed a refund by someone else... but I won't name and shame just yet. I'm massively disappointed...

Drop me a DM with your address and I’ll send one to you if you let me know which model/size/colour you ordered too 👍

Be careful.

Much appreciated. I ended up ordering one from another retailer, so I am sorted  :)

Be careful.
Page 7 of the Statement of Affairs covers the debts owing if you are interested: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/07817841/filing-history

There may be more behind the numbers, but the numbers give a picture of how difficult it is to run a cricket shop/brand.
