Interesting I thought they were SG owned but my memory might be hazy too

this may not be the case, I’m sure someone will know here

According to their website, Kookaburra is still an family-owned Australian business- https://www.kookaburrasport.co.uk/our-story

I had understood that SG make bats for them rather than owning the brand

The two Kooks I've tidied up for clubmates were very SG-esque for sure. I'd heard SG made for Kookaburra as well, pretty much anything not in their top ranges. Not a fan of the handles at all but they're well pressed and nice shapes.

They aren’t owned by SG.

SG have made their bats for the best part of 20 years, maybe longer

As a cricketer who grew up using a fibreglass Kahuna for his first 5 years of cricket, seeing this in the 2024 Retro range is so exciting!! Looks like their is a G1 and a G4 EW model.

Oh dear, this is going to be expensive!

Anyone know if it is actually backed properly rather than just a sticker which I imagine will come away fairly quickly?

It's imagine it's a full sticker, with style form of graphite/carbon fiber effect?

Ridgeback with proper stickers brings back memories. Might get a 2000.

The new Australia ridgeback has just been revealed. Its the 1998 version with the teardrop shaped ridge. In my opinion the best ever version was the 1999 with the all red front sticker and red and green teardrop sticker on reverse. Oh and definitely with a yellow grip

The Big Show used it. Put someone on the roof.

And here is the Aus Ridgeback in all its glory (though I prefer the UK retro version):
