Growing tree's is a great plan, but it is very long term and you have to know what you need to do or it can be a complete waste of money.
Tree's need to be sited well and tended to 3 times a year to start with, going down to twice a year. They can take 30 years to hit minimum size for felling, if they fully mature in 12 you will have wide grains and no value so luck does play a part. Disease and many other factors can kill them or ruin them, and they could well be so over planted in 15 years time with Wrights planting 3 for each one felled that they might not even be worth felling.
You need 15ft sett's to start with, 40-60cm will not cut the mustard.
