Mail order Bats
« on: September 20, 2008, 07:14:53 AM »

I've been thinking of ordering a bat and i just can't bring myself to parting with my cash in a lucky dip sort of way.

Just wondering how many of you guys have ordered a bat online and wether its worth the gamble?

It is a gamble and to be honest I wouldnt do it unless you call them up and tell them exactly what you want.

Ah ok Dekaz i didnt realise you were from Oz. As its the start of your season....it's full price !!  only joking.  Yep we can sort you out a nice net bat, postage is expensive to oz though. Why not buy one of our new 2009 pedigrees and i will through in a net bat for free.

There's a few companies on this forum who will do you a deal I'm sure.

BatsandMore.com - Specialises in Asian made bats, low prices and good value for money. Think it's around £100 for G1.
Hell4Leather - Handmade in the UK with pretty cool stickers G2 Custom Made £100

Personally i would buy a bat off the internet if it's cheaper than a bat i can get elsewhere. However i would always rather go to a shop and pick up a bat and see how it feels.

I would only buy a bat off the internet if its custom made if not go and pick them up and see which one is right for you.

I have tried several times to buy a bat off the net but only end up comparing prices. Did order one for a friend from Owzat and it was as per the specs detailed to Paul.

I guess it depends on the company/online dealer you choose. Some like Owzat and other handfull ones believe in quality business and creating a returning base ratehr than one off sale.

Having said this, the person ordering should ensure that the specs required are communicated and understood by the retailer/stockist.

Similar to ordering a custom made from one of the bigger names, excet the custom made are made once order is received whereas the others are off the shelf/stock.....

Some online cos have a couple of ex-1st calss or county or a level cricketers working with them so the pic-up part can be taken care by them....

I would rather go and pick-up one myself rather than relying on others.....
