no offence to craig who does a great job on refurbs but his weight reduction wont be as good as one done by redback or h4l.

I think now is the best time for me to explain something, and I hope admin wont ban me for "attempting to advertise"

Firstly, Slogger, no offence taken, obviously, I have had little experience when compared to the likes of H4L, Redback or other custom made companies. I can do weight reductions, but I have never done them for forum members.

Right, as you know, if you need a refurbishment, give me an email, as I will be happy to help (refurbish your bat, or point you in the right direction) and I will quite happily accept any refurbishment or repair, as I have a lot of experience doing that. I have refurbished bat for county players and all have been extremely happy (I have had some GM bats from sponsored players, some of which had 18 - 22 grains so alot of trust is put into me to refurbish them correctly and professionally. Anyone who has had a refurbishment done by me before will know the amount of time and care and attention I put into each bat!

The point I am trying to make is that yes I can do weight reductions, however, if its an important bat to you, pay the extra and get it done professionally. If its a net bat, and you want it done cheaper, then feel free to give me an email. But at the moment, I am only accepting refurbishments and repairs. Maybe in a few months time I could start practicing more and offer this service for a set price, but at the moment, I would recommend getting it done professionally.

I hope this cleared things up for all members! :)

By no means I am an expert.
But I recently purchased bat that were on the heavier side. I wanted to reduce the weight, but still keep the balance.
so I went to a local hardware store and bought myself a wood planar, and a sander.
I reduced the bottom and lower middle with the planar, and sanded it to give a smoother finish.
In all I took off 3 oz of wood.
The balance is fantastic, I used it nets & games, and I love the bats even more.
Give it a shot, its not that difficult.
