a trip to serious cricket
« on: June 18, 2010, 06:40:19 PM »

hi all, was a bit stuck for a bat this weekend so, after going to holt and haskel in soton and not really seeing much  in my modest price range of below £150 I thought I'd nip to dummer. Having been there before and knowing they aren't the cheapest place around I wasn't optimistic.

Anyway I looked at a few brands newbery gn gm ect oh and including a piri piri bat I stumbled accross this kookaburra, Its a Ice 400, one of the lowest in the ice range. I was very surprised to see a 400 with at least 20 grains yes 20! Obviously I wanted to make sure the pick up was ok, and then tested it with a mallet from the shop.
I let the fella relieve me of £119.99 and I was chuffed. Not having used a bat with this many grains, really wanted to try it.I know the grains aren't the be all and end all but looks a beaut! Would someone mind putting some pics up for me?

H&H had an Adidas Incurza for £99 last week with better grains and shape than any other Adidas bat in store.

Why get hung up on price rather than performance? If a £99 bat responds well just because you pay £150 more doesn't necessarily mean it will play any better!
