Willow export ban given 3 month suspension
« on: April 26, 2010, 10:46:16 AM »

As of today the willow export ban has been given a 3 month suspension and will come into effect again on 26th July. I think I'd be interested in the heat treatment test and will be sending some clefts for testing.

It applied to raw willow clefts being sent for manufacture in Inida and Pakistan.

it means they've created a mountain out of a molehill! Not much has changed and by the sounds of it not much is likely to change either.......though if the heat treatment doesnt work then it may cause a few headaches perhaps???

Wrights or Anglican (whoever it was in the paper) already said that heat treatment is not a viable solution didn't they?

I dont think there is a link with all this information on - probably more word of mouth within the willow industry.

Hear is a quick link with some of the details Armie - though i think it might have been mentioned on this site previously.
Some interesting comments left by some of the readers at the bottom of the page- considering this chemical was banned 5 years ago you would have thought that those in the industry might have tried something a little sooner :D
