Hi,this question is to all the bat makers out there.I know this might sound stupid but i want to know if this could actually work.
I know the bat handles have 3 rubber pieces between the wood to minimize the shock from the Cricket ball,but still there is some shock you get which is really annoying,i was thinking what if you put 2 pieces of rubber on the "V" of the bat where the bat handle would fit in?so this will stop more shock,or would it?is this possible?

I have cut half moon's out of each side of the handle just above the shoulders and inserted rubber strips then glued the bit i had cut out back in. re-shape and jobs a good-un. Extra shock absorbtion and gives some extra whip.

Vantage, the sounds like the old County Contraflex. Do you have any pics?

Nah, i did it ages ago to a bat that the rubber didnt go very far down the handle on.

I thought that you need such a tight fit between the handle and blade, that the rubber would be so compressed that it would have little or no damping effect.
