Vaughan
« on: September 28, 2008, 03:40:39 PM »

It has been decided not to take Vaughan to India which in my eye's is a bit of a mistake as they have given him a central contract. Also i think it would do him good to go to India and get used to being around the team not as captain again as i think they want him to play in the Ashes.

I agree mate. Waste of a central contract if you ask me! To be honest I dont think he will make it back into the team again

I agree leo if you look at his form since around 2006 its been poor and i personally dont think it was down to captaincy i just think he is bad technically in defence, just my opinion though.

He has a habit of playing down the wrong line and getting bowled or nicking off and making it look like a magic ball but when he is on song he is still one of our best player's and his cover drives and pulls are some of the most magical shots in cricket.

He seems to plant his front foot too early on occasions and then be prone to the inswinger getting him lbw?

He's always planted his foot it's the way he bats, when on form  he reacts quick enough to deal with it. Like I've said in another topic, the only reason he got a central contract is because of a clique within the England set up. Vaughan is a fine player, but he's had his day.

Thay when he is on form he clips away to leg for a boundary so it's akll swings and roundabout's imo. I do agree with you Outlaw about the clique in the England set up but i think that that is slowly disentagrating now.
