Hi chaps,

Not sure if this subject should be here or in items wanted so admins feel free to move it.

After having a hack at an old SS which i am currently refurbing, I have been bitten by the bat making bug & want to get into it, so have ordered a cleft from CJI. At the moment I have a convex spokeshave & a couple of plains, both of which are very blunt. So my first question is....

What is the best way to sharpen your tools, would it be a file & some elbow grease?

My second question is does anyone have any tools which they are willing to sell? I am particularly looking for a drawknife & a travisher. If not, are there any good places to get these tools from? I'm not looking to spend an awful lot as i may be terrible at it yet!

The best way to sharpen plane blades is with a proper oil stone

the stones and guides for holding the blade at the correct angle are easily available from B&Q or from eBay

I have a good quality and very sharp drawknife, yours for 20 quid!
