What sort of twine do I need to bind a handle?

I don't know if the wax makes a difference or not. As long as you get lots it's ok. The J.S. Wright student pack didn't and I felt like a right chump when I ran out of string with two inches of bat handle to go!

I just used string. Doesn't really make much difference tbh. All bats have different twine.

can different twine affect the quality of the handle?

i guess it could affect the stiffness depending on the thickness and stiffness of the twine. i guess it also could help pick up wise if you have a heavier and thicker twine althought im guessing it wont make much difference.

i managed to pick up a roll from a batmaker which came in handy although i have run out now. i maybe getting some more in the next couple of weeks if you need some

i think i read somewhere that a handle can take up to 30m of twine (depending on the twine thickness).

yeah its surprising how much is actually used to bind a handle. the likes of SG making thousands a day must go through a fair few rolls
