Really but I couldnt find on here or csf:

Whats the best glue to use to apply a toe guard? I have read that super glue from b&q is good but which one specifically?

I have oiled the front, back and sides of my bat once and the toe 3 times, all with a 24 hours gap in between. How long should I wait for the bat to dry before I apply the toe guard? (i have fitted an anti scuff so only a small part of the front were oiled and the whole bat seems to have taken the oil in)

This year I experimented and used No More Nails instead of a toe guard. This has worked perfectly.

Unlike PVA, No More Nails is more water resistant and does not start to dissolve/weaken and eventually disappear when plating in damp/wet conditions.

Unlike super glue (which becomes quite hard and brittle), this does not chip as even after drying out it has a lot of elasticity.

Sometimes the toe guards hide any visible damage to the toe (from mistimes shots or yorkers) and these damages become visible only when they have become more severe.

Since you oiled the toe thice it take some time to soak the oil completely. I would suggest to give another 48 hours rest so it is fully dry. Then the toe would stick good.

Sorry I can't help you on glue part as I am not in UK nor I am familar with glues in UK or where I live. Just use Samad Bond if you have it

Thanks - I will leave it until tuesday then. I have already bought a toe guard so dont want to NOT use it, but I will try to find no more nails at a hardware store

Show goo would be the best thing to use as an alternative to a toe guard, �5.99 on eBay will last u a while as u can re-apply when needed. Took mine off today as going to apply some fresh now the season is over...just order the goo from eBay too

super glue to stick the toe guards on tho any brand will do

I have fitted loads of toe guards with the suggested Fevibond and a lot come of, super glue too brittle once set, i suggest popping down to your local pound shop and picking up some two pack resin glue, shock ressistant and holds forever and only costs a pound!!! I have not used Shoe Goo yet but know a lot of guys who do and it does seem the best way to go for a lighter option!!!

Can back tom up here, cant go wrong with the stuff, suprised more people dont use it!

Tom do you heat it to get it off, or just man up and pull it off!!

just ripped mine off yesterday mate after being rubbish and failing to block a yorker! came off cleanly without leaving any residue or anything....just ordered up a tube of shoe goo from the bay now to stick a new layer on when required

Its brilliant, one thing i found is let it set a bit before shaping it onto toe, otherwise it goes everywhere and is impossible!!
