i like my bats light i however have been tempted by some 2.10 ish bats in recent times........

am considering buying a 3lb + net bat...........

Johan it was my match bat all of last year and got on with it fine until a 'veteran' of our club told me it was far too heavy for me. I thought about it and he was right, I used to be good at cuts and pulls and found I could no longer play them because of the bat. I used a 2.10 next game (T/20) and got 50 off 30 balls. 3 fours and 4 sixes, 3 of the sixes were pulls :)

I'll use it for nets and a couple of T/20's probably next season.

Ahh, makes sense. Cheers for explaining, is the 2.9 the new Catalyst on the way, which bat is this 2.14 if I may ask?

Mine range from 2.10 to 3lb, with my median being 2.11.

LW Reserve: 2.11
Bradbury S Players: 2.10

Goin purely by dead weight, my ideal weight is 2.9. But I got up to 2.10/2.11 if the pick-up is light.

The only thing I am very fussy about is the handle shape and diameter (thickness)

I think that this is an interesting topic - I always thing of two weights with a bat - the naked weight and the dressed weight.

For a blank bat I would ideally go for around 2.9, which could be as much as 2.11 when dressed with stickers grip, toe guard, protective facing etc.

The SAF Genus i have was 2.11 naked and about 2.13 dressed.

I have a very small range. Only feel comfortable and best between 2.7 and 2.9
