I broke a bat after getting my first golden duck, I regretted it.

Hi Johan .. I was once on the oposing team and this ex-Glamorgan opener, who had been given his bat by Ganguly, decided to hurl it at the clubhouse as he was trudgung back after being caught ... bat was a mess ... total disrespect for the game, the equipment, and the gift.  Lost any respect I may have had for that person after that, no matter how good he may be!

Ask simmy about batting tantrums  :D
I love knocking bats in and going through the whole playing in process. I  know how to look after them aswell, but it's annoyed me playing at my current club as it has tiny changing rooms and every bat I've had in there has been stood on or damaged in some way :( I started leaving my gear outside last season like some of the other lads do. It has worked especially when someone stomps off the field throwing there gear everywhere and punching holes in the wall.

Indian cricketers are probably a bit fickle, I dare say Sachin excluded, but most of them would have used an SS bat at some stage in their career.
But absolutely, there is some rubbish on eBay, some is still genuine SS (but low end) usually for the Indian market, so you're not going to get quality stuff unless you trust your seller.  From a reputable seller you should also get the after sales service should anything go wrong.
We've done reasonably well with the Indian SS Platicum reserves we are selling on eBay, sold 4 out of the 5, despite the thoughts of eBay and Asian bats.
