The theory is that the dominant eye if you are right handed will more often than not be the right eye and if you are left handed it is generally your left eye.

If you are right eye dominant and you bat in a left handed stance your right eye will be in front so I can understand the theory into making a right eye dominant kid bat left handed, however there have been studies that show there isn't much difference between batting averages between right hand bat / right eye dominant and left hand bat / right eye dominant and vice versa with left hand bat / left eye dominant and left hand bat / right eye dominant.

As I put on another thread it would be interesting to compare scoring areas of these players as this may tell you more than their averages, i.e. do they score in the direction of the dominant eye.

I am left eye dominant and bat right handed and I use my right hand for writing, racquet sports etc although I can play tennis and badminton almost as well left handed as I can right handed.

I suspect the ability to get decent scores has less to do with eye dominance and more to do with talent...

Absolutely, interesting none the less. There was a freak here a few years ago that made A Grade (level below Sheffield shield) hundreds both right and left handed, he was a freak. Incredible natural hand eye coordination.

was watching a spot of darts last night and noticed Barney signed the board with his left hand which i thought was odd, i bat left handed but do everything else right handed including golf. Brian Lara deliberately learned golf right handed so it didn't interfere with his batting and he plays off something stupid like 3 or something.

humm - I do love some morning Aussie over enthusiasm - I think Dhoni or Tendulkar for their performances in winning the 2011 world cup may be slightly ahead of Shane playing in a game against some pie chuckers - I don't even rate this innings above Naill O'Brian's against England in the world cup.

Dont forgot Watson's Ashes series (not as good as Cook or Hussey, but very solid) and his two great t-20 performances against you guys, his 161 no against you guys aswell, plus he made the world cup team and now his 185 n.o, so he is the most consistant over all forms imo
