What are the little things that we take for granted during the season? what don't we notice at the time, but we miss during the winter?
I'll start us off by saying a good cricket tea
Picture the scene... it is the 39th over, you've been battered, bruised and frazzled in the field for what feels like an eternity, ruing the skippers wrong call at the toss which plunged you on to the field in this 30 degree heat, diving around, chasing lost causes, fetching balls from beyond boundaries, climbing over fences to fetch balls from neighbouring fields, your knees and elbows grazed from trying to stop that four, swatting away insects buzzing around you, gasping for a drink after the inadequately sized cup of juice you had after 20 overs has provided all of the nourishment that it could... THEN, the last ball is bowled, you finally drag yourself off to the comfort of the clubhouse and pile up a mound of lovingly pre-prepared food on your plate, you stuff your face. Subsequently feeling a touch bloated, you strap up your pads ready to bat, it is cooler now and a breeze is brushing your skin... this is a day at the cricket... and i love it!
