pre world cup a lot of people had a rant at me for saying prior is not a world class cricketer, and now i have not seen him in one prospective team, because of one bad tournament?

he is world class at first class level of that there is no doubt

It may be a poor vintage for world class all round keeper batsman but he up there in the longer format of the game

for want of a better word, we need a meathead... 7 foot tall, built like a brick shithouse, 4lb bat, good eye for the ball... we just dont have anyone who can do it consistantly

We are not taught to bat with freedom that's why so rarely a player comes along with the balls to do it the last real one was banger oh how we miss you

If you want a big hitter then Davies out and Kieswetter in! I know he does have some bad innings but he can certainly hit a big ball!

Not sure I rate him too highly bt was discarded pretty quick, but brought in too soon.

I don't really rate kieswetters keeping I'm probably old fashioned but I like a good keeper behind the stumps

i have no attachment to him, if someone came along and could do a better job id have them in, i think he is weak mentally and has never played for sustained periods with the positive instinct he was gifted. he is worth his place in the test side, but as i have repeatedly said, i cant give him the tag 'world class', hopefully someone else can put a case forward to replace him

everyones given up on him as a one day player so far though, calling for kieswetter, the world cup debacle should provide an oppotunity to rebuild ODI wise, its time to freshen up and give someone else a chance, i.e. davies or smith
