Played Brondesbury 3s today, and in short we got smashed.
Inserted on a greenish old deck, they got 2 early wickets back to back balls and then I was in 4 facing the hat-trick ball.
Bowling attack really was not much, they used the pitch quite well tbf but were slow and not that threatening, and I'd made my way to 11 nicely - middling a lot; best I've felt at the crease in a while... - before I was given out LBW when I inside edged it onto my pad quite high.
Not happy >:(
No-one else thought it was out but the ump, and even they were happy they'd been given such a dubious LBW >:(
We got 121 all out in 43 (opener got 75, good effort...) and they knocked it off for 2 in 29 overs (I did get a catch though but it doesn't make up for it :( )
Bottom of the league another week :(

I know a couple of those Brondesbury lads - their opening bowler that took 3-48, Jack Peet, and the number 3, Zak Beller.

Played Louth yesterday.  Chasing 153 to win off 40 overs - sitting here Sunday morning and still cant believe we threw the game away and with and the manner of our loss.  I opened the batting.  First wicket went down for 20 runs.  Our innings was going great from then.  Very good second wicket partnership between our number 3 and myself saw us to 111.  I was very much acting in a supporting role before he was out (58).  I was out couple of balls later (27).  The rest of our innings as as follows...

111 - 3
115 - 4
118 - 5
118 - 6
122 - 7
122 - 8
122 - 9
122 all out.

Shocking.  Very disappointed in myself.  Although I had scored very slowly (I am not going to disclose how many balls my 27 took.  Suffice to say my score beat the number of overs I was in by one) I was nevertheless in and should have stayed in and batted through.  We needed 43 from 13 overs to win and managed to lose 9 wickets for 11 runs.  You have to love village cricket  >:(  :D

Well played Louth

Let the oppo slip from 105-8 to 184-9 at the end of the innings, there opener got 101 not out after 9 dropped catches and a missed stumping from myself  :(
Then get told im opening as the rest of the players are walking out to bat so have to rush off and get my stuff ready, battled to 43 after 2 hours at the crease before dragging a pull onto my stumps, we ended up 172-8 when time was up

My match today was cancelled at the last minute and now I'm incredibly bored sitting at home thinking I could of been playing right now.

Team started poorly today, skipper was calling around this morning trying to find players to make up the 11, never a good start.

Things started badly and only got worse with the batting, as we ended up on 126-9 off our 40 overs and I got a golden duck caught behind on my first ball(2nd last ball of the innings)

We were really going to struggle to defend that total and at 76-2 I was brought on to try and replicate the bowling I had produced yesterday, and I gave it a bloody good shot. After 4 overs I had got 2 wickets for 4 runs, sadly in my 5th over my bowling declined and with a slogger(Using a H4L bat) coming to the crease I got smashed around for 13, ruining my figures although they were still considerably better than most of our bowlers.

I took a reaction catch at point to make it 110-8 but sadly we couldn't break the partnership and they won the game with 2 wickets to spare.

7 wickets this weekend: 1 C&B, 1 LBW, 2 caught and 3 bowled and I took 2 catches off other peoples bowling, a very good weekend!

Played at Yapham today. Had to wait 30 mins for the rain to stop and then batted on a nice wet green track. Skipper completely lost his bottle and "hid" down the order, leaving me to open. Plenty of interesting bounce, the legside delivery that seamed back at me from a good length and hit me just below the throat being an example. Pretty challenging with plenty of bounce in the deck, balls popping and keeping low , kept both teams on their toes when batting.  I limped to 44 off 80 odd deliveries and we got a reasonable 137-7 in 35 overs. On a slightly drier track the oppo got off to a decent start thanks to the bowlers getting carried away with the bounce. I came on and bowled some left arm spin darts taking 2-16 off 7, however I still managed to hit 3 batsman in the chest from lifting deliveries! They sneaked home in the last over by 4 wickets. Considering I have a shoulder and heal injury, I'll settle for today's efforts - just be nice to be fully fit.

2 wins from the weekend, thank God! Knocked off 143 yesterday with no troubles, knocked off 85 with 1 down today too. 12-2-40-2 yesterday, didn't bowl today but took a catch. It'll do me!
