I had a terrible season. 300 runs in 20 games. Poor really for an opening batsmen, but did get my first ton this year. Fairly decent season behind the stumps and really enjoyed my 1st season as skipper.

Good year, broke in to the first team at the end of last year and held my place all year opening the bowling on more than 5 occassions and went from 8 to 6 in the batting lineup and got my first adult 50 for the ones off 35 balls with 4 sixes. Not bad for a 16 year old!

Used my PB for the 3rd time in total and the first time in a game today

Continuing on from 8n.o last week, I ended up getting 55 of 50 balls with 11 fours today and the funny thing was is that I was never having a go, so that was very encouraging. The pitch was a bit slow and held up, so I was a bit early on a few of my drives so they were upish, even so, I felt like I barely tapped the ball on a few of them and they still went for four (was a quick outfield, so that helped). The ones I managed to middle felt fantastic and just flew off the bat.

The funny thing was, was that I started on 8n.o and the other bloke, who is my mate, was on 39n.o, and I beat him to 50, lol :D. Was funny giving him a bit of stick afterwards. He batted very well though and ended up on 53 off 148 balls, so he tied down one end for quite some time, haha.

Was very lucky too as on my 3rd ball I think, the leftie got the ball to come back in (the ball was already 37 overs old from us batting after getting them out cheaply the previous week, so didn't expect it) and it snuck between my bat and pad and I heard the sound of the ball snicking the stumps, thought the worst but then I turned around and the bail hadn't come off, so must have been a light deflection. Was also lucky because they were apealing for caught behind, as there was a failry loud sound, but happy the umpire didn't give it.

We ended up getting 303 in 60 overs, over both weeks, then sent them back in again to try and get the outright but could only get them 7 down by the end of the day.
