A few of Australias 'Finest'
« on: May 05, 2011, 07:04:55 AM »

Since I am always reading about UK custom companies, thought Id trawl around a bit and find some in good old OZ. Besides the better known brands like Screaming Cat, Bradbury, WillowWizard, here are a few I cam across, some I have seen/used, others I havent:

http://www.bombercricket.com.au/
Actually made in India...have used a Bomber bat before and it was fairly decent. Also a couple of other blokes use them and rate them as good sticks.

http://www.whitsundaybats.com.au/products.php
Whitsundays Bats. Aweful stickers lol. Had a mate buy one of their 'top range' bats....we used it for a couple of net sesions and it was aweful!!! Not sure if anyone has had better experiences with them!

Havent heard of this brand before....any of our other Aussie forum friends heard or seen them? One other that I have looked at before but never actually used is Fisher Bats.

Anyway Enjoy Everyone :-)

Here are a few more.

http://www.ledeuxsports.com/
My mate runs this company and it's pretty good. His bat's were a bit too heavy for me (around the 2'10 mark), but he is getting some lighter ones made up. Hiss softs are really good too. I keep telling him to ask GCCC to stock his stuff, but he doesnt want them to put the prices up, so he just sells them for a cheaper price. It's run up in Qld. He get's his stuff made in

This is also up in Qld. I don't know much about this company, but it is run by a guy at Souths Cricket Club (I think) and I have seen quite a few people in the Quensland Premier Grade Comp using the bats and softs.

How is this for warranty:

Fisher Cricket Bats offer a two season warranty on the blade and one season warranty on the handle under normal use i.e. two training sessions and one game a week. However we work with the player to ensure customer satisfaction and concerns are addressed and recorded if any.

Screaming Cat an GN are the only batmaker of note. Fisher is ok and the rest are stickered up blanks from India or Pakistan

Lachlan Fisher is a capable bat maker.

His Grade 1 Willow never looks "Grade 1" though.

Many (more than half) of the guys at my club use his bats.
