New Bag
« on: May 07, 2011, 12:21:28 PM »

I'm  in need of a new bag after my aero finally broke.
I need one which is less than £70, will last for a couple of seasons and most importantly is big enough to fit a lot of kit.

I have found 4 bags which fit the requirement:
- Newbery SPS
- Gray-Nicolls Players
- GM Original L.E. Easi-Load
- Ayrtek

It would be helpful if you guys could tell me what you think of each of these bags and tell me what you have experienced with these bags if you have had them.

Regards

I have the new ayrtek bag. Very big bag with plenty of room. I presume this is the case with all the new ayrtek bags, when stood upright, mine leans forward quite a bit. If I don't fill the bottom of the bag up, or if the top section is full then it falls over. The feet on the bottom of the bag are too near the middle.

A bag which has snuck under my radar is the new GN Nitro. From what I've heard they are quite roomy, what do the rest of you think about it?

I have it, nice bag. The roomyness of the main part of the bag depends on how full the front pockets are.

I can easily fit in 2 x spikes + accessories(balls tape etc) in the bottom pocket, all of my clothing in the middle section (including rain jacket, jumper, fleece, jumper, cap) and then in the main section I have 2 x bats (within pockets either side of the inside of the bag), 1 x pads, helmet, 2 x gloves and aero strippers with plenty of space left in it.

For the price of the bag it's very good. Think it's very similar to the old Xiphos bag which was very popular. The bag stands up comfortably no matter how full/empty the bag is.

Yeh can fit plenty into mine but perhaps may need to stiffen the walls of the mk3 as when it's top heavy it gets it's lean on lol

All a learning curve tho as was my 1st attempt at a bag design :)
