My New GN Nitro
« on: January 04, 2009, 10:43:46 PM »

Having heard a lot about Pro4Sports, I decided to take a treck to their store in Derbyshire. It was a very long trek (120mile return) but one that proved to be very fruitful.

The best part was the time I spent with Chris and Dave.

Though I did not want to buy a bat, but I got tempted looking at the collection of bats. However, I fell for the bats there, but restricted myself to ab budget of £150.

Chris and Dave showed me quite a few bats but though all top quality (really pro stuff) these were off my restrictive budget. Finally, Chris went to his office and got me a GN Nitro.

My first reaction to seeing the bat was - - it's massive. A really intimidating profile. At 2.11 the bat was monstrous. The pick was a bit bottom heavy but Chris played around with a few grips and then we got it right. The pick improved significantly with 2 grips (one herringbone and one adidas).

The bat has 12-13 grans and a small butterfly mark, but the ping and feel are unmatched.

Pictures will be posted soon.

Chris and Dave are top blokes, very good selection of bats as Yash has said.

I wish there was a way to show the ping and pick-up of this bat. This is a absolute beauty and none of the bats I have bought/used since the last season comes anywhere near it.

The Fusions, Warsops, Pumas are just shadows of this bat.

Not the most beautiful of bats, but can give any bat a run for it's money on the performance.

I am sure it would have found a buyer even at £200 or above.

Seems like the only problem is the blemish

Exactly, and GN would have to down-grade it because of that.

What I could make out of the discussions with Chris and Dave this is a bat below the Pro Performance but the willow is better than that of a Atomic except for the cosmetics.

In the worst case I would assume this to be at least Atomic grade. Bur definitely not a 5 start as they sell the that for £100. Given the good guys they are they would have not ripped me off for sure.
