Aero Bat grip?
« on: May 27, 2011, 01:48:12 PM »

Afternoon fellas,

Just wondering if any of you had any experience with these grips? I've bought one to go on my, soon to arrive, new bat but I was wondering what the score is if I decide I want two grips on it? Can I put an Aero grip over the top of a standard grip? Will it stick ok? Or is it best to just use two 'normal' grips and forget about the Aero?

Thanks for the help!

If you want to make the aero grip thicker the general consensus seems to be to wrap some insulating / electrical tape around the handle first then apply the aero grip. Should stick fine.

I thought the aero grips arent grippy enough with batting gloves on, they feel great in your bare hands tho

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Feel grippy enough to me and the longer you bat the more grippy they become. Warming them up before you bat helps too. I wont suggest the method though it's not too dissimilar to how you might treat your little friend! ;)

I like mine quite a bit. It's relatively thick, and warming it up in your hands in the Sun does definetely mean less of that dreaded rotating in the hands!

I love Aero grips.. there's something very satisfying winding the grip on... finishing off with tape at the bottom and feeling that rubber in your hands.. what subject are we on again and which forum!? .. but seriously, I apply over the original grip and I don't have big hands.. feels just right to me...My preference definitely, but I still think octopus grips come a close but very different sensation second... let's not go into that one....

Is it possible to finish off an aero grip with grip grip instead of electrical style tape ? Considering an aero grip for some bats ,but not if you have to use tape at the base of the handle .
