My wife's best friend gave me this after she split up with her partner.

That's got to be a pretty rare bat? I haven't seen one of those crop up for a very long time!

I remember playing a guy who had one of those years ago. Very cool.

Just got my bat back from GN. It's a classic Scoop that I've got refurbished. From around 1977-82 but now certainly doesn't look it!

I was looking thru our local EBay equivalent TradeMe when I spotted this, not the grip so much but the gold in the background, couple of Symonds Tuskers if I'm not mistaken.

Jogetnz, that is awesome. I am a trademe user as well, I get daily emails of all the new cricket bat listings but this one slipped passed me! Let me know if you find anymore gold! I want that Excalibur.

Managed to get my hands on this for a few minutes to take some pictures today.
It was given to my Dad by his Uncle, and it is from when he was still in school, making it about 60 years old (possibly older).

Next from my vintage/retro collection.... Mr Fearnley's "the Magnum"
This bat is in pretty good nick for its age, obviously looked after very well by its previous owner.
Although its not a Magnum Supreme its still a Magnum! and is one of my favourite old school bats I have.
Can anyone shed any light on what colour grip this bat is meant to have? I've seen photos of Magnums with either a black or a dark green grip.

I would imagine a black grip in those days? Although I think green looks ok - mine had a green grip on
