An old VR 5 Star I have just picked up. Unfortunately it has no front sticker.

Picked up a GN Dynadrive (circa early 90s). Long lost cousin for my beloved Megapower. Pity about the badly damaged toe. Will never use this bat any way. I might use a flexible wood filler just to make it look better. Looks like it was used with a cheap ball. That said the original owner was sad to hand it over.
Would love to clean face but as it is polycoated I will risk damage to side stickers

Does any of the forumites own the GN Volcano, or better has done a review? I have not been able to get much details about this model other than an image of a brochure in http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=14156.0

Would really love to see some photos if someone has one. Even GN themselves said they do not have any images of this bat in their archives!!!

I can remember seeing one in the flesh, and tbh it looked a bit different to that pic, from memory the 'sloping shoulders' had quite a long drop, longer than the Newbery excalibur of the same era. The Slazenger WG actually had tiny squared shoulders which were then sloped down.

In that era there was also the Symonds Bomber (I'm sure it was Super Bomber) shoulderless bat. https://www.facebook.com/SymondsTuskers/

Talking of "slopeing" shoulders, my first bat ( mid/late eighties) was a Slazenger, white painted offering, with sloped shoulders.
I can't remember what it was called for the life of me- anybody have an idea?

So finally picked up one of these legendary Kook bats with "something special" glued to the back. This one is an Angry Beast Fibreglass, so you'd be correct in thinking the stiff back sticker is fibreglass and not graphite. It's in decent condition and weighs 2lb 11oz so is in my useable weight. Seems to knock up okay. Needs a coat of oil, but otherwise...

Here are the pictures!

A guy at my club still used one of them until recently, been trying to replace it for ages but after every new bat he seemed to go back to the beast!

Ohh for the days when £100 would buy you an absolute gun Kookaburra... I remember trying to flick a single and looking in surprise as the ball flew over the protective nets  at square leg and out of the ground with mine on more than one occasion. No exaggeration. Looks a nice bat Tim, I'd happily still use a Kahuna or Beast from that era. Out of interest, does anyone know who was making them in those years? About 2003-2007 I suppose.

As I've gained a couple more interesting items from that wonderful vintage bat shop, ebay, and the missus is away over easter, I think the entire Vintage collection will have to come out and get a photo shoot.... Watch this space!
