could be wrong but regarding grip I think if you want it to be totally authentic I believe it needs a marble type grip GN used for this model

but happy to be corrected  :)

My wife is away for a couple of days so took the opportunity to take all my vintage bats out of hiding to take some pics of of the full collection.

Not quite as extensive as others on here but not bad for just over 12 months of collecting.

Nice collection of trusty old sticks, that. Very good to see.  :)

Hello all,
It's been a while.  Here are some of my latest acquisitions.  I really like the old white Skipper.  Had the same bat when I was 11 - Many moons ago.  The handle is actually made of a hollowed plastic topped with wood.  I know this, as I drilled a hole in the top and filled it with lead to give it more weight.  It broke in half a couple of weeks later!

I'm glad I don't see those white covered bats anymore.

What I found interesting was the other Skipper.  The original owner had sanded it down and you can see that there is a natural discolouration in the wood.  Which makes me think that bat manufacturers would have used these blanks as the the white stock back in the day.  Not sure what they do now.

@play-yourself-in Thanks - I've posted my other bats in this thread a while ago.  I've got 29 sitting in a tub in the garage...
