I have to say that this is some of the maddest advice I've seen on here....When you see what goes into the pads themselves you might not want to do this, some pads would be ruined after the 5 minutes, stop being soft boys and simply wear them in round the house and at nets, they are only pads, not suits of armour.
Have to say that all this worry about breaking pads in is news to me. New pads, wear to a net or two and they're fine!You're all big wusses...
No mate, stayed white. I did make sure I cleaned the bath out totally and scrub any mud off from around the bottoms. Soaked them for 5 mins then left them to dry in the garden for 2 days and it has worked really well. Can't think why that would have happened. Mr Cricket and Dave said they always do it and I have mentioned it to a couple of lads I know and they don't seem to have had any issues
There will be padding that is not designed to be wet and may be leaching colour into the rest of the pad, plus many use cardboard as bolster, this does not soak well and will never recover any lost strength or life.
