A couple pictures of myself playing for the Diocese of Bath and Wells (guesting, far from a holy man )- we played against a Somerset XI in at the county ground , who were meant to feature Omari Banks, Wes Durston and Max Waller - all these players were replaced by their academy side because of the 20:20 sucess, but some of these were pretty decent - Jos Butler who's England u19 i believe and a few others who are decent 2's players and academy. They also had Bobby Gould (the manager) play for them - what a (No Swearing Please), didnt shut up all match! Was a 20:20 slog. About 2,000 people payed to watch the match and they also did a dvd of the match - have to say that this was one of the best matched i have been involved in, plus the bishops, canon's and vicars were a pretty good laugh. Chuck in a free three course meal with Vic Marks speaking and thats what i call a good day of cricket . Oh, the wicket really is a road, no wonder Langer, Trescothick , Ponting and Smith wanted to play there!Me Bowling - got a very whippy arm action and generally bowl 70-75mph inswingers.Pie Number 1 : A little variation of the Fray Bentos Minced Beef and OnionPie Number 2 : Good old Steak and AlePie Number 3 : Inswinging yorker to a number 11 - 'Cue the applause'Me Batting with the Talisman Storm - There was something very satisfying about hitting the advertising hoarding (or any boundary come to think of it)The Nervous Walk OutMow 1 : Be a good fellow and fetch that from the boundary (Also, good luck spelling my name on that scoreboard!)Mow 2 : 'The Buffet Cart will be serving half-volleys - tuck in'Mow 3 : F*ck of Bobby Gould and stop bowling grenades
