Them sanderstead videos are good. The ground looks small. How long are the boundaries?

As their 1st team plays on this ground as well therfore ground size is standard but straight boundaries are smaller

One of my pet hates - slip fielders with their hands on their knees after the ball has been bowled  :(

Why does it possibly matter if they take them?

I have absolutely no idea why it would make a difference. As long as they snare those nicks I don't care what a slip fielder is doing.

I guess it doesn't matter IF they take them, but I'd argue that you have a better chance of taking a catch if you've got your palms facing the right way.
The point I drill into my kids is that you can't take a catch with the back of your hands, so why not give yourself the best chance of taking a catch, by having your palms facing the ball before you need to react?
Plus, if you've got weight from you upper body being supported through hands on knees (like the guy in the red cap in particular), it takes longer to move your hands, because you have to 'unload' that weight first.

That's a couple less things to do in the split second you have to react and take the catch, which can only work in your favour.
If it's good enough for keepers, it should be good enough for slips.

But maybe I'm an old fart out of touch with modern cricket......

I am not a fan of the slips with their hands on their knees either.  They should be ready in position  to take a catch

Couple of pics from last league game, local amateur photography takes pics of most home games for them which is decent as i have hardly any pics of me playing. I’m the keeper by the way and 1 of me batting

Have you grown Chris, you appear above stump high when you are batting  :D :D

Love the look of surprise/concentration in picture 2!
