Nah, I ordered some yesterday afternoon and got an e-mail off them this afternoon saying they'd cancelled my order. If you advertised the price wrong in the shop then you'd have to sell at that price as far as I'm aware, this should be the same. Even if they did mess up, they should give me the radars at a cheap price cause I can't afford them at a real price!

When a retailer displays a product for sale, legally it is giving you 'an invitation to treat', which means it is inviting you to make an offer to buy. The retailer can refuse that offer if it decides that it doesn't want to sell you the goods. To have a legally-binding contract the retailer must have accepted your offer to buy. So your rights depend on where in the sale process you are.

If you order an item on the internet, you don't have a legally-binding contract until the retailer has contacted you to confirm the order. If the wrong price is spotted before the retailer confirms the order, they do not have to sell to you at that price.

Yeah I know the workings of the invitation to treat, but I'm unaware as to at what stage is classed as accepting my offer to buy, would that be the acceptance of my order that I put in, and sending me all the billing info?

Hmm, after reading the t+c's, they cannot legally do what they've done, as it voids their own terms. So I've gone out on the offensive and threatened them with various action. Always fun. Especially when they're in the wrong!

They accepted my order, then cancelled it, which from what I've been told is breaking the contract that they've entered into, and also they never gave me the option of re-confirming the order, which they are supposed to let me do. I have to admit, my contract law knowledge is pretty rusty, I specialised in criminal law at 6th form! So I'm not sure how much of a safety net I've got on this...

Spare me your patronising tone Jon, I read far beyond what was taught, and actually enjoying what I learnt made me read book after book on criminal law. However, I can't see them doing that, because there are more than just a few people claiming the same things I am! Quite a lot of people have kicked up about it.
