In light of Will's thread, I was wondering if most on here wear helmets when they play cricket, or if they don't.
What are the reasons for either of the choices..for example heat or just no pace, faithful decks...etc.

At home we have a lovely batting track, so not wearing a lid away games different ubless oppo just have dibbly's

Yes, as I would rather not end up looking like Nick! Seriously, it gives me more confidence than without as I don't worry about being hit in the face.

No, don't play a good enough standard to not be able to see the ball.

Yes, my Dad was hit in the face and lost his 3 front teeth (has fake ones now) so I was told by my Mum as soon as I started playing that if I didn't wear a helmet, I couldn't play. I'm use to it now and don't even take it off to the spinners as it doesn't effect me in the slightest.

I'm no longer that quick, but just occasionally I can bowl a quicker one, and were are only talking 65 mph. That its fast enough to hit a batsman on the helmet, in the nets at least, surprises people.

Yes. I do but don't like wearing one if I'm honest, although the pros far outweigh the cons, especially playing quite low down the pyramid on dodgy tracks

I'm so used to wearing a helmet now that if I dont wear one, just feels wrong.  Reason I started wearing it, seemed like the sensible thing to do.  Glad i do.  Had a couple hit me on the grill, one this year, big inswinging beamer.

YES! Sometimes I didn't wear one, and the deciding factor was when I top edged a sweep into my lip and was caught out hahaha. Split my lip open and have always worn a helmet since. I always wear a helmet to keep as well, but when I was 16 I couldn't wait to not wear one, oh how times have changed!

Always wear one in the league, wear one most of the time in friendlies. The only time I don't wear one is when we're playing on a slow and low track to dibbly dobblies....

Yes due to my age, will be no next month as i don't play a high standard and most grounds don't bounce as much as at home

Yeah, been pinned on the lid 3 times in matches this season. And countless times in the nets! Very worthwhile piece of equipment.
