Hi

Anyone on here bought a Funky bat? Seem to make big claims on their website about performance.

Can't comment on the bats but the softs are really nice. They're a weird brand, been around for a while now but only really see them in Hampshire, and even then not that often. I'm not sure who actually makes their bats for them...maybe County?

Ask Bruce (search members) as he has been using them.

They are all Pakistan imports. The brand belongs to the guy who runs www.cricket-hockey.com .

Search Funky in the search bar and you'll find a bit more info

Yeah having no profile pics was annoying couldn't judge middle size. Noticed Ervine using the slug this season on tv that is why I looked them up because his bat looked big and unusual labelling. In one of the players pics on this site one guy is using one I think.

Should read all posts before replying! This seems to a theme buying bats in labelling them and then adding on a big bit of profit! So they are Asian in style? As I said looked big on TV

Hi

Hi Mate I'm on my 3rd Funky. (1st hande came out, got an new one, 2nd was a spare they had and 3rd I'm on now is good, although the handle went on this one too and I didnt have it for 7 weeks!)
Great bats let down by not enough glue in the handle in some of them, mine have been belters, lots of meat for the money,
Get a 150 or LE. the Slug is the bigger bat and the Fire/ Dude is more of a stroke players bat still with a good middle.
The bloke is a good bloke, V helpful. They are not as pressed as hard so they have a lot of 'Ping'

Thanks for that. Just hadn't heard them mentioned in the usual my new bat posts. The LE would be out of my price range but could stretch to the 150, certainly another one to consider, when my next purchase is made.

They are made in Pakistan, and Yes Bruce is correct in saying that their handles are quite weak

Has that not been an issue with other pakistani bats as well? Some (I mean a lot ) of the bats on your site do look amazing. Big low middles with light pick ups. I need to be careful I don't want to anger people about big asian bat this, light pick up that!!

A team mate and myself called your bat clunky rather than funky because of the noise it made!

Yeah that bat must be terrible....
Looking at the score book, I finished off the job,
You were 47 bowled by a 15yr old who hadn't played in 2 years and I was 47 not out
Clunk on that brother! At your place, you were out for 2 after 36 balls  :o
I had a mere 29 off of 30 balls. :D
