Quite an interesting theme.

It looks as if the the handle on my Thruxton is on the way out. Although sadly the hair line fractures look to extend into the shoulder of the bat.

A team mates handle went on his Uzi about a month after buying it. Newbery didn't reply in the first instance, then they wouldn't fix it when he did mange to contact them.

This theme is why I am considering getting something else next, maybe a H4L or a Redback,

is that for the aftercare service or because of the bats?

Bit of both, but mainly because of the handle. It might just be a bad run or a manufacturing fault on a batch of handles, my knowledge of such things is not great.

TBH I have never bought the same bat in a row, and since finding all of these 'small' bat makers, I am keen to sample the quality.

Newbery quoted me £45 to rehandle my Newbery GT335, that wasn't including postage. Mine has cracked half way through about an inch from the shoulders, similar to those in the pics previously.

It would be good if anyone that has had a rehandle done could post prices as this is a common repair to bats,i have 2 at the moment that need to be done but is it worth it,as they are a few years old.
Perhaps a new thread?

I've only ever had one done, years ago but i think it was through Island cricket, though I've no idea who carried out the actual repair. Cost around 30 plus P and P to them, but this was about 5 years ago.

So is he charging £25 for rehandle (it doesnt give spacific prices for spacific work) + £!0 postage each bat?

The other option above dont include return postage either so you need to add another £15-£20 ontop of their prices as well!

for £25 i think its the cheapest you will find and from a reputable source, i packed 2 bats into the box i sent up so im sure they will fit in the same box to come back down for the £10 charge.

I think Kooks offer a very good deal but cannot find the details that were posted here before.
