Right I've done a bit of looking round and I reckon I'm down to the following options now:
Charlie French PPR1 pads and gloves
SS gladiator pads and gloves
Puma calibre 5000 pads and gloves (not sure about these though due to the 2 strap design)
I've discounted the redback and ayrtek softs as I'm not keen on the designs and also not going to go for the kook blade 950 pads as they're over £80 by themselves.
Any recommendations or comments on my three options? Are the CF gloves ok as I'd seen some comments on here that they were quite small?
I would say you'd be nut to pay £95 for Charlie French's pads, Charlie French is not a big company or good company infront of like of GM, GN, Puma etc so I would never advise you to buy those pads.
SS Gladiator Pads - I have them and they are very nice indeed. These pads are big heavy due to cane insert but they have lovely fitting and when you wear them they are very comfortable as well.
I have Puma Iridium FXT 6000, they are quite similar to Calibre FXT expect the difference being three straps and colour scheme. If you are opting out for them then I would say go for Iridium FXT as Owzat have them for £75 which will save you around £35. These Puma pads are very impressive indeed, they are very nice and the workmanship is overall great.
As others have mentioned I would say Gray Nicolls Legend pads are very good, in fact I would say they are the best. I currently have like 10 pairs of pads and I would say the best ones out of all are easily GN Legend pads, they are awesome. A bit expensive but well worth the money. The Legend gloves don't have pittard palm but the palm is already too soft to be honest.
