In need of new kit.
« on: September 10, 2011, 12:28:06 PM »

Hi guys,

The 2011 season is over for me and my kit is starting to look a little worn down. So for the 2012 season i'm looking to get some new kit, being.. bat, pads and gloves.

There's loads of companies out there that offer some excellent products. But after I pick one to go with for 2012, i change my mind because of people feedback of different equipment.

So I wondered if anyone could recommend any kit for 2012. I don't have a budget, but I don't want to buy kit for stupid money.

Thanks

Id suggest h4l. Brilliant bats, good quality softs and prices that the big.names simply cannot match. It is worth contacting them to see if they can do a package deal.

That's one of the companies i have thought about going with in the past..

I might contact them to see if they can give me a few % off.

I'm going with Ian wills next year. Their kit is good quality and soft are pretty cheap compared to others. Have also see a lot of bulldog this year, their bats are very decent and kieron can normally sort you out with anything you want to any budget, soft are good too. Redback are redback, and quality is undoubted from them from what I've heard.

I've seen their kit, there not bad. I sent my c.v to them for sponsorship, but the guy is on holiday in Australia, so won't hear from him until April i think. You sponsored by them? and if so what percentage off?

H4L has an offer atm

"buy a limited edition bat (£240) pads (£70) and we'll throw in the gloves (£45) for free !
so £310 in total+ £15 postage"

So that's pretty good

Right.. i've decided to go for 2 companies.

Salix and Redback.

Both of their softs looks excellent, i think what is going to slightly favour redback is the price and also they can make your bat to your requirements.

I have Salix Rogue and it plays as better as Laver Reserve Pro, I have Salix Pod Black gloves and they are the easily best I have worn. So I'm sure you can't complain or go wrong with alix.

BUt seeing how good Redbacks and Gary have been doing you can't go wrong for them.

With respect, price are what they are. I don't think many batmakers are going to give you extra discount just because you want it.

Salix is top dollar, but undeniably top quality.

I'd still consider H4L, just because they are cheaper does not make them of lesser quality.

I won't ask for it, i will ask if they can consider me for sponsorship. Which should relate to some discounts.

Be prepared to prove your credentials, official scorecards, maybe notes from coaches. Most brands are not interested unless you play high level. Even then it will probably only be a slight discount.

If I were you I would avoid large companies.
I have a friend who plays county and has a sponsorship with Salix - that's only like 10% off.

I totally agree, you can't go wrong with h4l gear, the bats, gloves, and pads are as good as any
