2011 indoor season in stark contrast to outdoor season... 100% record at the half way stage and tomorrow's game against Byo's team could decide who takes the league honours!

Our indoor league has started. Slightly different from Simmy's
6 a side normal 22 yrds. 12 overs. 3 overs per bowler. 2 runs for wides/no balls there is a half no ball line for short deliveries, only rebowled in final over. Batsmen retire at 25 runs and can return and bat can alone at end. 1 run for hitting the wall and 2 runs for a completed run. 4/6 back wall. Out if you hit the roof or over the height of the door (a red line runs all round the wall). So bowl full and straight. This is the format of the National finals, unfortunately without the head height rule. Got to Lord's a few years ago, was leading bowler in our league, full and straight just hit it back to me. In the National final the ball kept being hit for 6 over my head! The umpire kept looking at me as if to say why are you bowling like that! It was the first time the missus had came to watch me, she bought me a pair of adidas spikes in the shop as she felt sorry for me. My team then dropped me for our local finals day based on that performance (albeit for a minor counties player!who was out 1st ball!) which having been unbeaten all year they lost and had the embarrassment for being picking up the bowler of the year award that night. I never played for them again but least they apologised eventually!I do like the indoor game, it in can be quite intense as you are all so close and in our league there are some decent players. Would agree not really great for fitness or technique for that matter. But it is funny seeing some minor counties players smacking the ball for one off the wall to the fielder and then some old guy playing village dropping and running 2s and 3s every ball, a real leveller.

Likewise - regularly console myself with the comment "Would have been a 6 outdoors!!!"   :D

Team   P   W   D   L   Total Pts
THCC   6   5   0   1   81
FCCC   6   5   0   1   78

Dont mind if you want to win the rest of your games, but can you do it without taking any wickets or scoring too many runs? That'd be great....
