Club coach award, who's done it?
« on: November 25, 2011, 06:54:40 PM »

Right gents, have already enlisted the help of Buzz, but has anyone else done it and has any tips for what they're looking for on assessment day.

Now I'm no mug when it comes to coaching with a degree in it and so on, so "just be confident and try your best" might not cut it lol.

Modesty is high up on my list of qualities too. I'm not meaning to come across as arrogant I promise, having read it back.

doing the assessment myself in the next month or two so can't really comment save - and this may be obvious but I find it helps me when I'm bricking such things - remember that the assessment is not the biggest day of your life!

Haven't done the assessment as a candidate, but got roped in to taking part as a 'student' - have to say that I know that my 'coach' passed and he gave me crap advice. Said I needed to work on my cut shot, despite not having faced any short/wide deliveries

I did the old level 2 one, normal sort of thimg if you do what the trainers tell you you should be fine, we were advised to just describe what we saw in the video analysis sctionfor example and not make actual recomendations etc.

Bassically they want you to pass so if you do a half decent job you should be fine.

Aside,  i think all the coaching things the ecb do are pants!  Hit to leg anyone, pick up and retrive!

The new one is different though. And its more advanced than level 2, although not by much
