Ok, so this is the bat that Dan kindly made for me. Myself and Pete took him the M&H custom of Pete's that I have a serious fixation on and his Scat that performed so well in the recent Batoff and the task for Dan was to give me the middle position of the Scat with the high spine of the M&H. The willow cleft used was picked purely on performance.
Dan signed my FLC sticker for me!
The profile shot shows the thin edges and high spine that I prefer...
As was said earlier Dan knocked this in whilst Pete bombarded him with questions, 10 mins into the interview the bat was ready! We both took it straight off into the nets to see how it went.
Obviously I am likely to be a little biased about this as it is my new baby and as we all know no one has ever posted a bad review of a bat they own on here
however it absolutely flies. The middle position and feel of the bat is very, very similar to Pete's Scat having tested them both back to back there is almost no difference in performance between them. Obviously Pete's is a little lighter than mine (2.8 as opposed to 2.10 1/2) but the pickup is similar. Performance is off the chart for me. Anyone who has used his Scat knows how good it is and this is on a par.....
All in all Dan provided an amazing service to me at an incredible price considering the time and effort he put into getting it just right for me. Even making drawings of possible bat shapes to show me and taking measurements to ensure the middle position was correct.
If I come away with one thought in my mind about his work it's that his attention to detail is incredible. Not only does he make this from start to finish unlike a lot of 'custom bat makers' but he genuinely puts 100% into everything he does. I am a convert!
His new range of softs are blinding as well!
