Vsports
« on: January 04, 2012, 12:14:56 AM »

Well I have just been randomly looking through the internet at cricket stuff tonight, well I say tonight, I mean most nights of the week, I came across these, and they do a few custom made bats at very good prices.
I have posted the links below.
But my main question is, are these good quality hand made bats, or is the term custom made getting loosely thrown about by them? If they are indeed custom made, they look exceptional value for money!
If I hadn't bought to many bats already, I'd more than likely have ordered one already haha!
Any feedback, or opinions would be great
Thanks Tom

Reds had one custom made for him which he thinks I have (still haven't checked mate, sorry ;) ).
It goes nicely, not as well as my Instinct or H4L, but just is a solid bat imo. It has been refurbed to be fair...so perhaps not as much life left in it as I'm judging it on..

Ah right, I was thinking the stickers don't look the best.
But could easily be sorted out.
In all fairness though, that price for a grade one bat made to yours specs could be worth a punt?

Awesome cheers mate :)
I was just looking around the internet tbh, and was wondering what they were like.
Not really anything in particular, just general info.
The bats do look very good for the price tag though

Haha indeed!
It becomes an addiction once you come on here
If I had the means of buying that many, I probably would have that many by now.

VS Sports advertise that all their GM bats are custom made (amongst others), but they are not.

In Australia, VS Sports would be charged with deceptive and misleading advertising and fined a hefty amount, but in the UK you can lie through your teeth and there is no recourse.

If you don't like it, complain to Trading Standards. They'll go and take a look and then give them a slap on the wrist. You are sorely mistaken if you believe there is no recourse.

If you can pass on the details of this government department, I will gladly make a complaint against these fraudsters.

If it really bothers you that much! And I can't see that it says that anywhere.

I have all the emails I sent them and they sent me.

I sent through an order of how I wanted my GM Icon set up after seeing their advertisement that stated that the GM bats were "custom made" to the clients requirements.

They replied "GM do not do custom made bats".

I referred them to their advertisement on their website which clearly stated that they did. I asked them how was their service different to any other "bat off the shelf" retailers? Not to mention other retailers offering teh same bats cheaper.

They told me to go to another retailer.

Clearly their scam was caught out.

They are still peddling this nonsense:

http://www.vsports.co.uk/CricketEquipment/GM-Cricket-Bat-Icon-DXM-Original-LE-Custom-Made-2054.aspx

If you want a "custom made" GM (which now you can), it will cost considerably more thaan 320 pounds.

They are just shifty so and so's who must be brought to account.
