I think we should do a bit a batspotting till this bat lasts .

I reckon he will use it till it breaks in two mid-game.

Wonder what he nets with. I know it definately wouldn't be this...surely...lol

It looked massive when they showed a profile shot of the bat during the test today

Looking at Clarkes bat reminds me of this, the Little Master and his bat he refused to get shot of against South Africa

I imagine its to do with currency variations. That and the costs of shipping stuff there, it is soooo far from anything else.

Cut down an English tree

send it to India to be made

then send to Australia to a dealer/distributor (in most cases i believe)

dealer then sells to retailer, that's a lot of stages for the price to go up.

When I lived there I noticed things made in Europe, or at least from European companies, like toiletries, cosmetics  or certain 'luxury' foodstuffs were significantly more expensive. So maybe there is a higher import tax on European goods.

They could just find a bat maker in the uk to make there bats for them. I'm sure the brand would do very well in the UK.

Launching in another country is pretty tricky and can be an easy way to f a brand up. Finding the right distributor, manufacturer, pricing and product is not easy task - so I expect Spartan are taking their time.

One company blew half a million on a launch in one country, and didn't sell a bat. It's so easy to get it wrong.

SPARTAN were/are still a small Company who managed to sign much bigger player due to a sudden injection of $$ into the cricket side.

Even their main store used to have no more than 10-20 bats and almost 1000 soccer and basketballs. (even up until last year)

Cricket was like 5% of their business.

There are Spartan MC329 stickers on eBay. I highly doubt (in fact I'm certain) they're not legit, but for a few bucks I'm thinking of some for my plain bat.
